We arrive by boat in glitzy Saint-Tropez for a morning sojourn to soak up our fashionable surroundings. This afternoon journey to the ancient city of Arles to admire its Roman theater and arena - once the site of bloody battles and exhilarating chariot races. Tread in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh with your Local Specialist, exploring the heritage of this town where he was inspired to produce more than 300 paintings and drawings. Later, journey to Western Europe’s largest river delta region - the Camargue. This morning we visit the impressive Pont du Gard – an ancient Roman aqueduct bridge to cross the river Gardon. It's arches of stone, still standing since the 1st century AD when it was originally built to take water to the Roman settlement of the present day city of Nîmes. Take time in Avignon to explore its impressive Old Town, once the seat of the Papacy. Our orientation of this extraordinary historic city includes views of the imposing Palace of the Popes and the famous ruined bridge straddling the Rhône, which inspired the French song, Sur le Pont d'Avignon.

The “Wonderful France” trip was wonderful! Trafalgar provided us with excellent hotels and restaurants. The staff at the hotels were friendly and efficient. Servers at the restaurants were welcoming. This was a great trip. Lots to see and do. Our tour guide was amazing. She was well organized and very knowledgeable. It was a fun trip!

Wonderful France Magnifique!!! Very accommodating, professional, and great experience. This is my second Trafalgar trip and it was so wonderful. Each trip was during my birthday. It was so much fun celebrating due in large part to the amazing tour directors that we had both times. I really enjoyed the local experiences, the comfortable traveling made experiencing all the sights and cuisine at a fast pace easy, the new friends traveling with us, and the flexibility to see more or to do something different. The beauty of it all is that it is all planned - I just show up, take it all in, have fun and enjoy :)

May 2025. It's a good reliable service for tours. Trip was good, but it didn't take us to any major tourist sites (Versailles palace, Louvre museum, Eiffel tower, etc...) We stayed extra days after the tour ended to visit these sites.

Great introduction to Southeastern France. Trafalgar provided excellent communications and trip updates. The Trafalgar tour staff (Tour director and coach drivers) were greatly experienced and shared interesting knowledge and thoughtful observations. Clever to schedule Paris tours on the weekend when there is less traffic. The long bus rides were nicely paced to include good rest stops and small villages to walk about. Happy to discover Lyon, Nice and Avignon.

What a wonderful France tour! Great locations! Great tour guide and driver! So many wonderful places to visit. Would recommend to everyone wanting to see France. Avignon was truly wonderful! Everything was awesome! Only wish is that we had a little more time on our own to shop. I was rushed and missed several things that I wanted. As wonderful as the name. Got to see places that I would miss on my own. Those tend to be much better than bigger cities!
