FAQs

  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Will I have a trip manager on this trip? Yup! You’ll have a Trip Manager to keep you on piste at all times. Plus, there's an on-site Winter Team at Hopfgarten who can also give you all the info you need about the local village, things to do and recommendations for great local eateries too. (And you’ll also be introduced to your Contiki fam through them!)
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Where can I find more information on Ski lift passes and equipment hire?  Your lift pass and equipment hire can be arranged on arrival. Wanna know how much to budget? Check out our page about ski extras.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: How does the transfer work from the train station? When you get to Worgl Train Station, walk out the front and look for one of our Contiki Team – they will be on a classic Contiki Coach or a white van. The shuttles depart at 10:30am & 2:30pm – and luckily, you don’t need to pre book.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: How do I get from the accommodation to the slopes? Good news! We offer free daily shuttles to and from Haus Schöneck from 8am-10am (every ½ hour) and returning from 3pm-6pm (every ½ hour).
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Can I pay by card/apple pay? At Haus Schöneck, you’re welcome to pay by cash or card. But we highly recommend that you get some cash for the local restaurants. The Gasthofs on the mountain only accept cash sometimes. Forgot to bring cash? Don’t worry. There are 3 ATMs in the Hopfgarten.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: What is the ski area like? The Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental is one of Europe’s largest interconnected ski resorts. We’re talking over 270 kms of ski runs, 70 lifts & cable cars and 80 mountain huts. So, what’s the ski area like, you ask? Pretty darn awesome, we’d say.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: I have never skied or snowboarded before, can I book lessons? Yep! We highly recommend taking lessons, so you learn the right techniques and information (and can enjoy skiing the way you’re supposed to!). Group lessons start on a Sunday and can be booked for up to 3 days.Familiar with skiing but want a refresher? You can join intermediate and advanced lessons. You can take private lessons upon request too. We’ve been working with our local ski school for over 15 years. So you can only imagine how many of our travellers have taken lessons with them! If you’re on a Weekender trip, you might not be able to book a group lesson. But you’re always welcome to book a private one if you like.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Can I have dinner at the accommodation? Yes, of course! You can sign up for the Half Board option - which includes 2 courses of hearty home-cooked food, available for 3 nights. On the other night of your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to explore local restaurants since the kitchen is closed. You can make the payment for that in the resort.

Included Experience

  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Woo hoo! Here’s your official invite to a themed party at our exclusive Bar Schöneck.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Once a week we’re inviting you to grab your skis, wrap up warm and follow a local guide around the mountain.
  • Hopfgarten im Brixental: Perfect way to warm up after a long day of skiing? Lounging in a sauna, of course! And guess what? You'll have access to our very own sauna (open 4-9 PM) in the hostel. Yeeees!

Tour Operator

Contiki (CA)

Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]
