Contiki (CA)
Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

I really enjoyed my self-guided trip. I didn’t do all the activities however booking Contiki for London was amazing as I really liked the accommodation and the helpful Contiki hub. I booked through a travel agent.

I liked the accommodation provided. I had a hiccup with the Hop On Hop Off and cruise experience. The ticket receipt the driver of the first HOHO bus I caught wasn't accepted on the cruise from Westminster Pier. The HOHO company had to print a new ticket for me so I could get on the cruise. When I checked into the Contiki hub at the Royal National Hotel, the staff told me about my accommodation but nothing about my London Eye, HOHO, and cruise tickets like key info and timing I should know, also that there are a couple of HOHO companies with red buses and the closest bus stop I can catch the HOHO bus from.

Great little trip to be able to explore London on your own but having options available of what to do and see. Super easy to book online. Even calling the team for little questions they were more than helpful to make the most of my trip.

Hop on hop off was great really helped me get a bearing of the city. Took us to the major landmarks and had a great day without having to walk for miles. The Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge tour was okay. It was a 10 hr day and we were completely jet lagged so it became incredibly difficult to enjoy it after such a long day. I told the ladies at the help desk when I arrived after a 23 hour trip that I was sure my dates were wrong but they told me they weren’t without checking. I was tired after traveling so just went up stairs. Woke up next morning to find they definitely were wrong and everything had been booked wrong. It was an easy fix and the girl that fixed it was great and helped us with the hop on hop off bus. She made the experience good instead of average.

I would definitely go on contiki again - I had a great time. I would like to take this opportunity to express how amazing David Miller was as a tour guide, and our coach driver Steve. I had no idea it was his first trip as a manager, because he was perfect at striking the right mix between friend, while also looking out for us as a group, making sure everyone was included and comfortable.
