Contiki (CA)
Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

My Contiki trip covered a lot of amazing places in France and the itinerary was packed, but not restful—every day started early and there was no “beach day” as advertised. Most activities came with extra charges, and our large group (38 people) was mostly left to explore on our own. Unfortunately, our guide *Personal information removed by Feefo* was a last-minute substitute and not up to standard. She offered little guidance, suggested buying virtual tour videos instead of leading, and gave no support when my friend had a medical emergency in France—no first aid kit, no real help, and misleading advice (she said no Uber, but there was). Fellow travelers helped us more than our guide. This was my first and last Contiki trip. While I enjoyed seeing France, I expected more care, guidance, and responsibility from a guided tour

I enjoyed the trip altogether. There were things that I wished we had more time at like the Chateau in Chantilly or Bayeux but I understood that we were on a time crunch. Everything went great on Contiki’s end of thing. We booked late and everything was still fine

This was an amazing trip that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a taste of France. There is a wide range of activities so it caters to many different interests and due to the short and quick paced nature of the trip, it leaves you wanting more. A real gem of the trip was our amazing trip manager who ensured this would be a trip we wouldn't forget!

A nice and short trip overall. The contiki Team around this trip has been great. Activities are great but by the amount of time, I felt rush often. We were also advertised an activity thab never occured. Accomodations, especially in Paris could be better. All breakfasts were good.

This trip was incredible!! Highly recommend to anyone that wants to experience true French culture! I loved getting to see so much of Paris but also all the little villages around the chateaus and in the French countryside were amazing. My favorite part was Mont Saint-Michel, it is unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. The free time add ons were all amazing too, Moulin Rouge and the patisserie tour are definitely worth it and the chateaus were all incredible. Definitely recommend this trip but do note that there is a lot to see in a very short amount of time so it can feel a little rushed at points. This was my first contiki but everything was pretty straightforward with booking. I wish we had gotten our daily timed itinerary more than a day before but other than that it was super easy to just book and show up ready for the tour.

I loved this tour and the people on it sm <3 It was fast paced, wish we had a bit more time in Paris or arrived the day before the tour to get to see more of it. Wish we had a bit more time at Mt. stain Michele to be able to explore all of the streets and check out the shops. The drive times were not too long, perfect for a power nap which were needed after late nights chatting with new friends. Overall, I had an amazing time and met such amazing people!
