Bonjour, welcome to your foodie adventure! Today kicks off with a complimentary transfer from Villefranche-sur-Saone Station to our 16th Century Chateau. Rub your eyes, blink: yep, that's our accommodation for the next 3 nights, complete with a bar, swimming pool and dreamy views of the surrounding vineyards. Once we've checked in and chilled out we'll be feeling like royalty, and that's before we enjoy some local wine paired with cheese. Then our team of live-in chefs will prepare an authentic French Dinner. We'll tuck in while enjoying magnificent views of the Beaujolais countryside. What a day, and we're just getting started...
Accommodation: Château de Cruix (or similar)
Meals: Dinner
Rise and shine! After a hearty homemade breakfast and some on-the-lawn yoga (consider the cobwebs cleared) we'll visit one of the local wineries that this region is famous for. We'll learn about the world-famous Beaujolais Nouveau, meet a local winemaker and of course, sample some of their finest drops - paired with an included lunch. Stuffed with a new knowledge of wine and food, we'll head back to the château for a well deserved chilled night (and an included dinner too). Here you're free to chill out as you like... swimming, walking, or just kicking back on the terrace, the choice is yours!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After a spot of breakfast, we'll bid au revoir to our château for the day... and head into Lyon for a change of pace. Here in Lyon, we'll start by appreciating all things FOOD. On a foodie walking tour, we'll sample the city's prettiest and tastiest food spots, with a local guide to impart all their knowledge and wisdom. We'll also uncover 'Hidden Lyon' through secret passageways, known locally as Traboules. Then, it's time to head to the local village, for a 3 course farewell dinner of traditional French cuisine. This is the good life. Once we've had time to digest our dinner, we'll get to explore this cute village before heading back to the château for our final evening. Oh France, do we really have to leave you?
Accommodation: Château de Cruix (or similar)

It's our final morning (sob), but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy one last breakfast together. You can take a complimentary transfer this morning back to Villefranche-sur-Saone, or make your own arrangements. The trip is over, but all of those delicious memories will put smiles on our faces for years to come.

The Itinerary was great and everything that we did was awesome. TM was very organized and communicated well. The only issue was that some of the activities described in the original text on the website were not done. Everything was done well, communication was excellent and if I needed anything if was brought to me immediately. Our TM a was very descriptive.

I love that Contiki added the detours. They are a great mini-vacation. I definitely suggest doing a detour within your other travels. Contiki has a whole is great, including the service. The on-site staff was great as well as our tour manager. Everything was so well organized. Traveling with Contiki is traveling worry free! I have traveled 2x with them and probably will plan more trips with them.

Phenomenal experience. Great trip, a short relax-and-recharge type of trip. Trip host truly went above and beyond for us, and Chateau staff were warm, welcoming, and extremely hospitable. I would return in a heartbeat!

This trip is short but sweet! Our group was able to get along straight away which made this experience so much better. The Chateau was the perfect location to relax and enjoy everything the Beaujolais region has to offer, with panoramic views, a large pool and lawn area, two bars, tidy dorms and clean modern bathrooms. The chateau also comes equipped with a makeup room! The accommodation is situated within a vineyard which you can sample some of the products of during this tour. The meals both in and away from the accommodation are all tasty and filling. Our guide, *Personal information removed by Feefo*, was great and was able to accommodate the groups sometimes interesting requests without hesitation! The rest of the staff in the chateau were really friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do! My one note, which isn't a deal breaker is there are no washing facilities so doo keep it in mind, however most traveler's aren't afraid of hand washing in the sink! I would certainly recommend this tour if you want to experience something slower paced and region specific, along with many glasses of wine, this would be perfect for you!

Great trip, lovely host. Really relaxing, especially the vineyard tour with a delicious homemade lunch which was a trip highlight. It would be great if the trip could be an extra day or if the leaving time could be afternoon or evening of the last day rather than first thing. Trip felt like only two days and it would have felt more complete with an extra day of activity.

Loved the trip - and highly recommend it! We were a smaller group than average which was nice to get to know everyone better. The itinerary was fab with my favourite part being the winery visit and lunch an hour away. The trip manager *Personal information removed by Feefo* was so friendly, accommodating, conscious of all our dietary requirements and took great care of us. Ensured we were well fed the chateau we stayed at had stunning views and all the staff was so hospitable. Would book this trip again in a heartbeat! Information and communication was great from the Australian team - super friendly and efficiently answered all my questions! However, didn't receive any responses from the Singapore team.
