Fill up on your included group dinner, then you're free to explore or hit the local bars.

Quintessential German experiences don't get much better than visiting this charming medieval town. We'll stroll the cobblestoned streets, checking out vibrant market squares and picturesque half-timbered houses along the way. "Prost!”. Here in the home of Oktoberfest we'll take a locally guided tour of the city, and amuse ourselves watching the antics of mechanical figurines in the city's famous Glockenspiel. Tour Operator

Contiki (CA)

Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

It was a quick trip that showcased a lot of what Europe has to offer! I would recommend possibly doing this trip in early winter or early spring to get more snow. That being said, a trip during spring was very pleasant too! Shout out to the team for being superstars for getting us to places safely and being awesome guides.

I had an incredible time on the European Horizons Trip and made so many lovely friends and memories! The trip manager and coach driver were very down to earth and always up for some fun, and I couldn’t fault them in any way! I would love to do the trip all over again and would definitely do another Contiki in the future :)

I would highly recommend contiki to anyone keen to travel and meet new people. We had such a fun group, the whole trip was well planned and we got to experience a lot in such a short time. Our trip manager and driver were incredible, they created life long memories for everyone on the trip and made sure we had the best time! The trip was super easy to book online, the process was smooth and Contiki was able to help with any queries or worries I had.

Overall, my European Horizon Contiki trip was absolutely phenomenal! I had low expectations going into my trip alone; but coming out of the trip I have made tons of lifetime memories and friends that I will forever remember. I will always long to be back on this adventure with my other crazy contiki friends. I completely recommend doing a trip like this! It was just amazing. Fairly easy to book and pay for!

This trip has been the best adventure of my life. I saw some amazing places, met amazing people, and overall had a blast. I wouldn't have had the experience I did without the help of Kiki and Dave. They truly went above and beyond to make my experience extra special. Not to be dramatic but I would die for both of them. Contiki was super helpful in the booking process as well as helping with all of my questions!

I thought that European Horizan allowed me to explore multiple countries in a short amount of time. That being said, the countries I enjoyed the most were ones that I never would have went to on my own. Overall I liked the diversity of experiences and countries that we explored and the family like atmosphere that accompanied it! I wanted to ensure that I could get flights along with there being enough room on the Contiki for me and a friend. As such, Contiki worked with us to hold a spot for 30 minutes while we booked flights, making our booking experience all the more enjoyable.
