It would be easier to end with a last night in Auckland.

A couple of the hotel selections could have been better (Rotorua and Cairns). At the price point of the tour, I would have expected more of the optional excursions to be part of price.

The itinerary was a little robust for my taste - not enough down time. So, I chose not to attend a couple of the activities. I would have liked to have had all itineraries and internal flight information provided ahead of time. Lastly, I believe the time spent in Auckland before driving to Rotorua was a waste. Driving directly to Rotorua with a meal stop, and then returning to Auckland the day before flying out would have been a better use of time.

This was our first tour and I have nothing to compare it to but I thought the last hotel we stayed in was not up to Trafalgar standards.

The itinerary was amazing and covered what we wanted to see in these countries. The excursions for Australia were well defined and you knew everything about them. Our tour guide (*Personal information removed by Feefo*) was always physically present and available and her energy was contagious. The excursions in New Zealand were NOT well defined ahead of time and we ended up on a 12 hour day (8 if them on a bus) had we known this ahead of time several individuals in our group would NOT have selected this excursion. Of course on the day of the excursion we were offered a return flight option (for an additional $450 each) Our tour guide also did NOT accompany us on this or a couple other excursions. For safety reasons I believe they should always be available, what is something had happened? On one excursion I actually passed out in the cave, due to low oxygen. Thankfully the people in our tour group assisted me and got help from the excursion staff, but. It until we got on the bus and someone in our group told the tour guide did she even know. Maybe she’s a new guide but I believe some training and guidance would help her in her role.
