The holiday was very well organised. Every evening we had an itinerary for the next day. When free time was available, the tour director always had good suggestions for what to do, so you were never “on your own”. The hotels we stayed in were comfortable, clean and quiet. Stunning time of the year to go with gorgeous colours and views. The von Trapp family lodge was superb with marvellous views, food and walks in the grounds. Was an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. The only negatives were the food offer at the North Conway hotel which was appalling and not worthy of an Insight tour and the breakfast at the Portland Westin hotel which had limited selection. If Insight could change these two issues it would be a perfect holiday.

My travel arrangements were all made by my AAA travel agent therefore I never dealt with Insight’s agents direct. She was able to provide answers to any questions I may have had by contacting Insight direct and was always able to answer my questions. It was the main reason I chose this tour. It included areas with great scenery and wonderful views of the mountains and beautiful fall colors. The various places we stopped included both educational and opportunities to explore the countryside and enjoy many shops and restaurant choices. The hotels all met my expectations being clean, with friendly staff and very nice breakfasts which were included. I must also give credit to our excellent tour guide and driver. They helped to make this experience all that it was.

Communication was excellent before during and after the trip. I have recommended this trip to friends. I hope to take more trips with Insight. Made sure everyone knew what was coming up next. He knew the history of where we were. Surprised us with what we were seeing, doing and eat. He is a wonderful tour guide/Director. drove us around to areas I didn’t think the bus would go. He helped us on and off the bus. They both always had a smile on there faces. I would definitely love to go with both of them again.

Our tour director and driver Jose were excellent. kept us entertained on the bus, "comfort stops" were always included -- everything was planned for us. While we're from RI and Maine (but now live in FL), and have seen the changing of the leaves many, many times, we always wanted to do the trip as an organized tour, mainly because you must have hotel reservations approx. a year in advance for this time of year. We had visited many of the sights on the itinerary in years past. But this time, we wanted someone else to do the driving/planning! We saw many of the highlights in Boston en route to Stockbridge. True, we could have used more time at the Vermont Country Store. Our time in Stowe was especially a highlight as we finally had the chance to stay at the Trapp Family Lodge. Lots to see in N. Conway area, and we ended up showing our new friends in Portland how to really eat a lobster (we travel with our own tools as we're serious lobster lovers!). Gorgeous fall foliage, covered bridges, snow, lobster -- what more could one want! All in all, definitely worth the trip (our 8th with Insight and the 14th of the brand).
