Amazing Northern Italy with Trafalgar guide, Belinda! This was such an amazing trip with our tour guide Belinda Richardson. We were so very lucky to have her as I understand our original tour guide could not make it and she filled in. I can't imagine anyone better than Belinda! She was all personality, knowledge, and fun while also very diplomatic when handling some personalities. What an art!! The people in our tour group were great to get to know. Our group of 6 had never done a tour before. What we also like is the fact that there were days we had options and took advantage of this when we went to visit Stresa where our grandparents were from. While the Start Hotel in Milan was nice inside, it was in an area where there was no place to walk to. This was disappointing and others we spoke with agreed. The stop in Genoa was ok; not the best local guide either. We would have preferred heading straight to the Grand Hotel Dina Baveno which was such a lovely resort with so much to see and do. It would have been nice to spend more time there. Loved the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese production and ham curing tours and food, loved Lake Como, loved, Cinque Terre despite the rain, loved Lago Maggiore, loved Isola Bella, loved Fattoria Il Poggio for the oil oil and wine tasting as well as wonderful dinner and dancing after!!! There was so much to love and we need to thank Belinda for making it so much fun.

Trafalgar took excellent care of us! We utilized Trafalgar as a learning experience for our first trip to Europe. We learned so much on the trip and appreciated enjoying our experience stress-free. From the moment we booked until the last transport, Trafalgar made our trip safe, fun, and exciting. We loved our Trafalgar Trip to Northern Italy. We enjoyed the many unique experiences offer by the trip and the knowledgeable local specialists. Our highlights include our time in Parma and the Alpine Train to Santa Maria Maggiore. Sally, our travel guide, was patient, tenacious, knowledgeable and fun! We thought the hotels were everything that was promised, many were very lovely. As our first Trafalgar trip, we did not know what to expect and the trip was everything we wanted and more. The added bonus of new friends from all over the globe is especially joyful.

Our tour guide, Belinda, took care of every detail, including those of us with gluten issues. Proprietors were aware before we even sat down who had gluten issues. This tour took us from the city of Milan which is steeped in history, fashion and culture to the beautiful Lago Maggiore. It was a wonderful way to end our trip to Northern Italy. The lake is gorgeous at the base of the Alps. We took the excursion to Isola Bella which came highly recommended by my husband’s grandmother who grew up in the area. The palace and terraced gardens are indescribable. We look forward to returning to Lago Maggiore in the future to explore at our own pace.
