Contiki (CA)
Contiki is a New Zealand-based tour company that caters to 18 to 35-year-olds, offering over 350 different tours in over 75 countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.[1] It is a subsidiary of The Travel Corporation. Its tours historically had a reputation for partying;[2][3] however, it also operates wellness trips culturally immersive experiences that focus less on alcohol, which are more popular with Generation Z.[4] The company owns lodging facilities in Europe, including the Chateau De Cruix, a 16th century castle in the Beaujolais wine region, and the Gasthof Schoneck in the Austrian Tyrol. The name "Contiki" comes from the portmanteau 'Con' from the word 'Continent' and 'Tiki'; from the Māori referring to the first man, often symbolised as a pendant known as hei-tiki. It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

It was an amazing trip. I wished I had booked in from the start. This was a modular trip and the Rome to London trail was the end part of the trip. I was able to connect with everyone easily (even though everyone knew each other for 2 weeks prior). I made good friends, visited amazing places and made unforgettable memories. Would recommend if you have no issues socialising. It was easy to book and everyone was super helpful. I changed the trips multiple times and it was very smooth. The only thing that caught me off guard is the add ons and the price of it. The add ons were a surprise-especially the money u spend on it. Although I have no regrets as I enjoyed all the add ons, but would be nice to know it beforehand.

Prior to joining, the group had already been together for 16 days on the Europeon Trip which makes it hard to make social connections. Additionally, I was told it is just a partying group, but I didn't expect it to be to this level. It's fine to do as a solo traveller if you're nervous but I probably won't be doing one again.

Doesn’t accomodate mature people and more male accommodated. Rushed trip should be better organised for nights on trip and more options for add ons. Generally accommodated only males not really females.

Lots of wasted time on travelling, I think driving should start early early morning/ night driving so the first day in a country isn’t wasted on travel, time would be utilized much better. Accommodation in Florence was horrible, dated, so far from city centre, very inconvenient. Included experiences not worth going to (BORING) Trip was a modular trip so we joined at the end of the other groups trip and the bunch of us who joined in Rome had trouble integrating with the other group and the tour guide had no introductions to the other group when we joined. On the final day Paris to London our departure time was set for 7:45am tour guid was late didn’t arrive until 8:35am this causing us to miss the boat from France to England adding an extra 3 hours onto a travel day. The trip from Paris to London took 12 hours because of this. If you aren’t interested in drinking and partying I wouldn’t suggesting booking with contiki.

Trip starts at the end of the 23 day European Trail trip which sucked because everyone already had their friend groups and weren’t welcoming to new people at all. Wouldn’t recommend this trip if you’re a solo traveler because it’d be difficult to make friends and have a good time. Additionally, the excursions you could add-on were pretty lack luster. The trip is only nice because you get to see multiple cities, but because you’re only in each place for a day everything feels rushed to try and see all the things you want to see. This trip was the first and will probably be the last contiki I do..

This trip was so amazing! We got to see all the major sights including the Leaning Tower, and the Eiffel Tower at night. Our Trip Manager made sure everyone was where they needed to be and made us feel very welcomed. If you're on the fence about booking this trip... DO IT!!! The trip was so well planned out that it never really felt like we had nothing to do or we were being left high and dry. From the accommodations to the FTAs everything was perfect!

Everything was well organised and ran smoothly. Our tour guide was helpful and informative of all the locations visited. The only two things I didn’t like were the add ons payment. Most of them you want to do but you only really take notice of how much you spending once it’s all added up and it’s time to pay. The other thing that wasn’t nice was the tipping thing. It would be easier to know about this up front so you can budget for it. Booking the trip was really easy. The flexibility of paying when you are ready at the same price was good. We had one afternoon getting our visa where we needed to contact contiki and they helped out a lot in getting the information quickly to the visa application centre which allowed us to be granted a visa. Everything else was perfect.

Hi, I have mentioned what I liked above. Contiki organized the trip so well. From the hotels selected, activities along the way and the nice coach we used to travel in.

Amazing experience with a fantastic tour guide and activities. Welcoming atmosphere and encouraged exploration without being completely thrown into the deep end...
